The Indian government is currently coordinating with UK authorities to address concerns raised by a Daily Mail report on the identification of victims from the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the identification process followed established protocols and technical standards. He also highlighted the professional and respectful manner in which the remains were handled. The Daily Mail article pointed to instances of misidentification, causing disruption to some families. The Air India AI-171 flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, resulting in 260 fatalities. Authorities have previously identified the majority of the bodies through DNA sampling and facial recognition, and the remains were returned to the respective families.
