India and Ukraine are collaborating on efforts to end the ongoing conflict, with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba discussing potential solutions. During their phone conversation, the ministers addressed the conflict and opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Jaishankar indicated India’s support for a swift end to the conflict and the establishment of lasting peace. Kuleba provided an update on the war and Ukraine’s efforts towards a just peace, expressing confidence in India’s official stance and its active role in achieving a comprehensive end to the war, along with broader international peace initiatives. The two ministers agreed to meet during the United Nations General Assembly later this month to discuss political dialogue, high-level contacts, economic and technological cooperation and furthering their bilateral relations. This exchange follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Tianjin, where Modi showed India’s support for efforts towards establishing peace in Ukraine.
