Imran Khan, the imprisoned former Prime Minister of Pakistan, delivered a message to Army Chief Asim Munir through his sister, Aleema Khan. The message, as relayed by Aleema, included Khan’s strong stance against Munir’s actions: “You will not be able to break us. We will never accept your subjugation.” The message, published by BBC Urdu, reveals Khan’s view that Munir is under a misapprehension and is behaving in a manner similar to the former Army Chief Yahya Khan. Imran’s message warned Munir that his rule could end similarly to Yahya Khan’s, with Pakistan splitting into two. Additionally, Khan accused Munir of seeking to crush the PTI. This message followed a hearing in the Toshakhana case, where Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, are defendants. During discussions with reporters, Aleema Khan relayed Khan’s prediction of Pakistan’s economic deterioration, comparing the situation to that of Nepal and Sri Lanka. Khan further predicted potential coups in Pakistan, similar to those that have occurred in Bangladesh and Nepal. Khan expressed his view that Pakistan’s judiciary and media have been corrupted. He also cited the lack of foreign investment over the past three years, a rise in terrorist activities, and the military’s inability to maintain control, leading to increasing discontent among the public.
