After a period of strained relations, Canada’s NSA Nathalie Drouin and Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison are in Delhi to meet with India’s NSA Ajit Doval. The visit comes amid efforts to address the issues that soured the relationship, particularly allegations made during Justin Trudeau’s tenure as Prime Minister. These accusations included claims that Home Minister Amit Shah was involved in targeting separatists.
The meeting is a significant move towards improving ties, with both sides expressing a positive outlook. Discussions are expected to cover security, trade, and energy cooperation, as well as the extradition of Khalistani terrorists from Canada.
