Poland has placed its military on high alert due to the reported presence of Russian drones potentially entering its airspace. The alert was triggered by information shared by the Ukrainian air force via Telegram. The report suggested that Russian drones were moving westwards, potentially posing a risk to Polish borders. To counter this threat, Poland has activated its defense mechanisms, including deploying fighter jets and preparing its air defense and radar systems.
The Polish operational command confirmed that Polish and allied aircraft are currently patrolling the airspace, while ground-based air defense systems and radar units are operating at their highest level of readiness. The Ukrainian air force indicated that the drones may have been heading toward the Zamosc region on the border. Simultaneously, reports emerged of a drone being observed near Rzeszow in southeastern Poland. Authorities are working to ascertain the exact number and trajectory of the drones.
