In the wake of violent protests led by the Gen-Z generation in Nepal, Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, is receiving medical treatment in India. The protests, which took place on September 9th, resulted in severe injuries to Chitrakar after a fire at Khanal’s residence in Kathmandu. Having suffered burns across 15% of her body, Chitrakar was initially treated in Kirtipur. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later moved to New Delhi for advanced medical care. Jhala Nath Khanal, a key figure in Nepali politics and a former Prime Minister from February to August 2011, is closely monitoring the situation. The circumstances surrounding the protests and the security situation in Nepal are being closely examined.
