In a significant development, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has retracted his critical remarks regarding former U.S. President Donald Trump. On X, Musk admitted that his comments had gone “too far.” Musk’s remarks raised eyebrows, given their past association. Trump subsequently confirmed that the relationship had cooled down.
Musk stated on X, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”
The online tensions between Trump and Musk led Trump to declare he had no interest in repairing their relationship. Trump implied that Musk, once a supporter of his campaigns, could face ‘serious consequences’ if he supported the Democrats in future elections.
When asked if his relationship with Tesla CEO Musk was over, Trump replied during an interview, “I would assume so, yeah.” He made it clear he would not seek to resolve their conflict.
Trump said, “I’m too busy doing other things, you know, I won an election in a landslide…I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened, I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him.”
The tension between the two figures arose after Musk criticized Trump’s spending bills. Musk claimed the legislation would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to USD 2.5 trillion,” and added “Congress is making America bankrupt.” Musk labeled the bill a “disgusting abomination.”
