As the conflict in Gaza continues and Arab nations express their disapproval of Israeli actions, Egypt has pursued a substantial gas import deal with Israel. The agreement, valued at $35 billion, has become a point of contention due to the ongoing crisis and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The deal, which represents Israel’s largest export agreement to date, involves the import of 130 billion cubic meters of gas from the Israeli offshore field to Egypt. Critics argue that the gas resources are, in fact, resources belonging to the Palestinians before the establishment of the Israeli state.
