Four Baloch fighters were killed in a fierce gun battle with a ‘state-backed’ armed group in Barkhan district, Balochistan. The fighting took place in the Koh-e-Jandar area of Rakni tehsil and persisted for several hours. Residents reported the use of heavy weapons during the exchange of fire. The deceased have been identified as Mustafa Noor, Samiullah, Rasaan Qadir, and Shahzaib. Their bodies were later moved to a hospital in Rakni. The Pakistani government has not issued any official statements about the incident.
Separately, heavy fighting was reported in the Spilinji area of Mastung district during a military operation by Pakistani forces. Large numbers of troops entered the mountainous region late Thursday night. Intense gunfire and explosions indicated a prolonged engagement. There were casualties on both sides, and ambulances and reinforcements were seen entering the area. The precise number of casualties remains unconfirmed, and no Baloch armed group has yet taken responsibility for the Spilinji clashes. These incidents highlight the continuing unrest in Balochistan, where conflict between nationalist groups and state forces is escalating.
