At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, China, as the host and a founding member, unveiled a series of initiatives designed to support the development of its member states. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China released details of the plans following President Xi Jinping’s address at the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. China is committing to undertaking 100 “small and beautiful” livelihood projects within member states. Financial support includes a RMB 2 billion yuan grant for the current year and an extra RMB 10 billion yuan loan for the SCO Interbank Consortium’s member banks over the next three years. Moreover, starting from next year, there will be an increase in SCO-specific scholarships. There are also plans for an SCO innovative PhD program for joint training of talent in academic and research fields. Over the next five years, China will set up 10 Luban Workshops and deliver 10,000 human resource training opportunities. Jinping underscored the organization’s dedication to ongoing growth, and Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, shared the information on his social media account.
