The initial conflict started on June 13, when Israel initiated airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites, under the name “Operation Rising Lion.” In response, Iran launched a campaign of drone and missile attacks, “Operation True Promise 3,” against Israeli targets. The conflict escalated further after the U.S. launched airstrikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, prompting Iranian missile attacks on U.S. military bases.
