The investigation into the deadly shooting incident at Brown University has entered a new phase with the FBI releasing a video timeline of a “person of interest.” This newly shared footage, lasting close to five minutes, details the suspect’s movements in the hours preceding the violence that shook the Providence campus and claimed two lives. The FBI is urging the public to analyze the video for any identifying clues.
FBI Director Kash Patel presented the video, emphasizing its role in the ongoing manhunt. The individual in the video is seen walking, with their face partially covered by a hat or winter headwear. Law enforcement officials have issued a stern warning that the suspect is considered potentially armed and dangerous.
This action follows the earlier detention and subsequent clearance of another individual. The FBI is working in close partnership with local law enforcement agencies, including the Providence Police Department and the Rhode Island State Police. Providence Police have also released an enhanced version of the video, providing a clearer view of the person’s face, recorded in the East Side of Providence before the shooting.
The Rhode Island Attorney General has explicitly stated the suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous, underscoring the urgency of the situation. A substantial reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction. The governor has vowed that authorities will not rest until the shooter is brought to justice.
