On Sunday afternoon, a plane crashed shortly after takeoff from London Southend Airport, prompting an immediate emergency response. The aircraft, around 12 meters in size, crashed within the airport’s perimeter. London Southend Airport has announced its closure, cancelling all flights, via a public statement on X. An eyewitness reported the pilots had waved at children moments before the aircraft crashed and became engulfed in flames. Police and aviation authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Numerous international flights have been cancelled due to the incident. The crash scene is marked by a large fireball and significant smoke.
