Mir Yar Baloch, a key Baloch leader, has strongly opposed the trade deal between the US and Pakistan concerning the development of oil reserves, disputing Pakistan’s claims over Balochistan’s resources. In a statement, Baloch asserted that the oil, gas, and mineral resources of Balochistan belong to the Baloch people and their sovereign territory. He accused Pakistan of making false claims to gain control over the mineral wealth and reap economic benefits. He clarified that resources like rare earth elements, copper, lithium, uranium, and oil are owned by the Baloch people, and the Pakistani government has no right to deal with them. Baloch warned that the deal would empower the ISI, described as a rogue agency supporting terrorism, and that profits generated would fund militant activities, potentially leading to global terror. Baloch highlighted that Balochistan declared independence in May 2025 and urged the international community to recognize its sovereignty. He stated that Balochistan is not for sale and will not allow any foreign power to exploit its resources without the consent of the Baloch people, emphasizing that their sovereignty is non-negotiable.
