The sinking of a passenger ferry in the Bali Strait has resulted in a tragic loss of life, with four confirmed dead and over thirty people still missing. The ferry, the Tunu Pratama Jaya, which was carrying passengers and vehicles, sank shortly after departing from Ketapang Port. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident and are actively engaged in search and rescue operations. The incident has prompted concerns about maritime safety in the region. Previous accidents, like the sinking of the MV Sinar Bangun in 2018, are also being recalled as search operations continue under challenging conditions.
