Dr. Mukherjee was born on July 6, 1901, into a Bengali family. His mother’s name was Jogmaya Devi Mukherjee and father Ashutosh Mukherjee was a well-known and skilled lawyer of Bengal. Dr. Mukherjee received his bachelor’s degree in first class in 1921 from the University of Calcutta. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee separated from Jawaharlal Nehru and laid the foundation of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh in 1951. He started protesting against Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
