Mumbai Rain forecast: Landslides in Mumbai after rains, cars and buses entered into pits

Due to heavy rains in Mumbai since last night, many low-lying areas have been flooded, flood-like situation has arisen in many areas. About 2 feet of water has accumulated on the streets of King Circle. Apart from this, there was water logging in Hindmata, Sion, Matunga and Khar subways. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the city of Mumbai received more than 230 mm of rainfall in the last 10 hours. Mumbai also received heavy rainfall on Monday due to the active monsoon over the Arabian Sea.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of high tide along with heavy rain in Mumbai today. According to the department, high tide can come in Mumbai in the afternoon, during which the sea waves can rise up to 4.45 meters. People living around the sea have been advised not to leave the house. Also, BMC has appealed people not to get out in many other parts of Mumbai.

All lines of Mumbai Local stalled

Due to heavy rains, rail traffic has stopped on all 4 lines in Mumbai. Due to this, the service of Mumbai Local has come to a standstill. In view of the threat of heavy rains, the route of buses has been changed on 8 routes in Mumbai and arrangements have been made to divert them and run from other routes. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked all offices and other establishments to be closed today in view of the forecast of heavy rains.

Special suburban services are being run between Virar-Andheri-Bandra due to water logging in Dadar and Prabhadevi after heavy rains. At the same time, services between Bandra-Churchgate have been stopped in view of the high tide warning and forecast of heavy rain. Western Railway has given this information.

Since morning, Mumbai is seen to be submerged. There has been heavy rain in Mayanagari since late night. Santacruz, Parel, Mahalaxmi, Mira Road, Colaba and others are seen drowned. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai and Thane for the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, a part of the hill fell in Makar on the Western Express Highway due to heavy rains. However, no damage is reported from it. In many areas, buses and cars were found stuck in the pit.
