Virgin Orbit efficiently launches 7 satellites into orbit

A Virgin Orbit rocket launched from a jet flying off the California coast carried seven small satellites into house on Thursday as the corporate kicked off a yr through which it plans to ramp up the tempo of launches, together with two originating from Britain.

It was Virgin Orbit’s third launch carrying satellites for purchasers. Two earlier launches carried a number of satellites into orbit in January and June 2021. The firm’s first launch, an illustration flight, failed in May 2020.
Virgin Orbit, based in 2017 by British billionaire Richard Branson, went public final month. The firm is focusing on the marketplace for launching small satellites. It touts the mobility of its air-launch system in comparison with the restrictions of fastened launch websites.
