WhatsApp is consistently updating its platform with new features to improve the user experience. One of the significant recent additions is scheduled calls, which enables users to pre-arrange group calls. Participants receive a notification just before the scheduled call starts when they’re invited to join.
The platform is currently testing a voicemail feature to enhance user experience. Observed within the WhatsApp Android beta (v2.22.22.5), this feature allows users to listen to recorded messages and respond at a later time. Apple previously released a similar feature on iPhones in India, where callers can record short audio messages for recipients to review and respond to later. WhatsApp’s voicemail feature will function in a similar manner. Moreover, a voice call reminder is also in development, permitting users to set up reminders to return missed calls with available options for 2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, and custom time settings.
