As Apple prepares to launch its new smartphone, speculation surrounds the battery performance due to its ultra-thin form factor. With the design, it appears that the new iPhone will not have the same battery capacity as some of its competitors. Tim Cook, speaking from the Corning factory, offered insight into the battery life of the iPhone Air. In an interview, Cook spoke with CNBC’s Jim Cramer about new product releases and Apple’s partnership with the glassmaker. The interview featured Cook demonstrating the new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air, in addition to the AirPods’ live translation capabilities. Addressing the battery life, Cook stated: ‘The battery life is great. You’re going to love the battery life. (…) We engineered it from the inside out. It’s eSIM-only. And so we were able to take the battery and extend the battery to areas that previously had the physical SIM. And so, it’s incredible innovation.’ Discussions also included Apple’s investment in Corning, which will result in the Harrodsburg factory becoming a dedicated glass production facility. This investment aligns with Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, which will direct $600 billion to domestic manufacturing initiatives over the next four years.
