Samsung is discontinuing software update support for several of its smartphone models. This means that if you own a Samsung Galaxy A22, Galaxy F22, Galaxy M42 5G, or Galaxy M32, you will no longer receive security updates. This decision comes as these phones have reached the end of their update cycle, two years after their last major Android update, Android 13. This update cycle was for the models launched in 2021.
When buying a new phone, it’s important to check the number of years of OS and security updates it will receive. Samsung’s S series, for example, is known for providing seven OS updates, making it a reliable long-term option.
