Meta is enhancing the integration of its social media applications, and users of WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are about to benefit. A new feature is in development for WhatsApp, enabling users to set their Instagram and Facebook profile pictures directly on their WhatsApp profiles. The update was initially discovered in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.21.23. Some beta users have already received the update, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks.
Currently, WhatsApp users can choose their profile pictures from their camera, gallery, avatars, or AI-generated images. The latest feature will introduce Instagram and Facebook as new options. To utilize this, users need to access their WhatsApp profile settings and tap ‘Edit Profile Picture.’ If their Meta accounts (WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook) are linked in the Meta Accounts Center, they can upload their DP directly from Instagram or Facebook to WhatsApp. This new functionality is beneficial for those seeking to maintain a uniform profile image across all their social platforms. It removes the necessity to download the profile picture or take screenshots, thus maintaining image quality. This is designed to offer a more streamlined user experience across WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
