WhatsApp is constantly updating its features to optimize the user experience, with the introduction of the Wave Emoji. This new addition aims to make initiating conversations more user-friendly.
The Wave Emoji is a waving hand emoji designed to serve as a greeting message, offering a convenient alternative to the standard ‘Hello’ or ‘Hi’. It’s particularly useful for users who might feel uneasy about starting conversations with new contacts. WABetaInfo showed this new feature on X, displaying the emoji in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.21.24. The emoji will be available in the bottom section of the chats with those contacts you haven’t previously messaged and is restricted to one-on-one chats.
In addition to the text chat, WhatsApp is also expanding this feature into voice chats, introducing a ‘Wave All’ option, to help notify all the group members to join a voice chat. This is a convenient way to organize meetings or discussions.
Currently available for WhatsApp beta users, the feature is expected to be launched for all users following the beta testing phase.
