Meta has launched the Oakley Meta HSTN smart glasses, a collaboration with Oakley, priced at $499. The limited-edition model will be available from July 11, with more models planned this summer, starting from $399. These glasses, akin to the Meta Ray-Ban, include a front-facing camera, open-ear speakers, and microphones. Aimed at sportspeople, the glasses are IPX4 waterproof and offer an 8-hour battery life, and a charging case provides up to 48 hours of use. Features include 3K video recording, Meta AI voice control, and real-time visual recognition. The glasses allow users to listen to music, make calls and interact with Meta AI hands-free. The enhanced camera and audio sensors enable Meta AI to describe the environment and translate languages. The glasses will be available in five different frame/lens combinations, with options for prescription lenses. The special-edition version features gold trimmings and Oakley-standard PRIZM gold lenses. They will be sold in over 15 countries including the US, UK, and Canada.
