The government has extended the ITR filing deadline to September 15, and to facilitate the process, the Income Tax Department has launched two mobile apps: ‘AIS App’ and ‘Income Tax Department App.’ Taxpayers can now file their ITRs directly from their smartphones using these apps. The apps are particularly beneficial for salaried individuals, pensioners, and small taxpayers, offering a streamlined and user-friendly filing experience. They aim to make the entire process simpler and more accessible, eliminating the need for desktops or intermediaries.
