Meta has introduced a new generative AI video editing tool that aims to simplify video transformation using preset styles, effects, and character outfits. Available through the Meta AI app, Meta.AI website, and the Edits app, the tool is a step in Meta’s effort to make AI-generated video editing accessible to a broader audience. It’s currently available for free in a beta version to users in the US and other countries. Users can upload short clips and experiment with various styles, including options for a graphic novel look or a video game-inspired aesthetic. Meta plans to introduce text-based editing capabilities later this year. The tool is an extension of Meta’s prior AI research, including models such as Movie Gen and Make-A-Scene. The goal is to facilitate creative experimentation. Edited videos can be shared directly on Instagram, Facebook, and the Meta AI Discover feed. The tool is presently accessible in select regions and requires a Meta AI platform login.
