Rumors and leaked images indicate that Microsoft and Meta are collaborating on an Xbox-branded VR headset, the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition. The headset, resembling a rebranded Meta Quest 3S, is expected to feature an all-black design with green accents, an Xbox controller, Elite strap and a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Priced at $399, the device will offer 128GB of storage and is rumored to launch on June 24. This follows the recent announcement of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally, showcasing Microsoft’s strategy to broaden the Xbox ecosystem through collaborations.
Targeting the affordable VR market, the Quest 3S Xbox Edition is designed to be a more economical alternative. It will provide access to the complete Meta Quest library along with Xbox Cloud Gaming. This compatibility is part of Meta’s broader Horizon OS licensing initiative, with Xbox as an early partner. The project, teased last year by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, represents a significant move for Xbox into the VR space.
