Users accustomed to sending Collect Requests will have to switch to Push Transactions, where they directly transfer money. Payments via QR codes, UPI IDs, and bank account numbers will continue as before. NPCI advises users to keep their UPI and banking apps updated and to never approve requests from unknown sources. The changes affect only the Collect Request feature, with normal sending and receiving of payments remaining unaffected. Banks and payment apps are preparing to adapt their systems to the new regulations, prioritizing user security in the process.
