The new Google Pixel 10 series will launch on August 20th at the Made by Google event in New York, as confirmed by Google. The smartphones promise several significant upgrades.
According to reports, the lineup will include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 XL, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The design is not expected to undergo substantial changes, maintaining a similar aesthetic to previous models.
Camera improvements are a key focus. The standard Pixel 10 is expected to feature a triple camera setup, now including a telephoto lens. However, the primary sensor is reported to be slightly smaller than the Pixel 9’s, which could affect low-light photography. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to retain the camera system of the previous Pro models.
AI enhancements will also be a prominent feature, with the introduction of new AI tools such as Speak-to-Tweak for editing photos with voice commands, Sketch-to-Image for generating photos from drawings, and the new Pixel Sense virtual assistant. The Camera Coach feature will provide advice on optimizing angles and lighting while taking photos.
The Pixel 10 series will be powered by the new Tensor G5 chipset, manufactured by TSMC using a 3nm process, differing from previous Samsung production, which is expected to improve performance and heat management.
Expect larger batteries and Qi2 magnetic wireless charging support, contributing to slightly larger and heavier devices. This feature will be new to the Pixel series.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is set to be the first foldable phone with an IP68 dust-resistance rating.
New color options are anticipated for the Pixel 10, with Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello, while the Pro models will have Porcelain, Jade, and Moonstone. The Pixel 10 series will focus on camera upgrades, AI features, battery life, and wireless charging. Tech enthusiasts eagerly await the August 20th launch.
