Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to the popular Ghost of Tsushima, is generating excitement with its impending release. Sucker Punch is the developer behind this open-world title, which immerses players in a revenge story set in feudal Japan. The player will guide Atsu, a mercenary, on her quest to avenge her family’s murder at the hands of the Yōtei Six. To accomplish her goal, Atsu takes on the role of the “Ghost.”
The game will take place in the rugged terrains of Ezo, inspired by 1600s Japan. Players will experience a variety of landscapes, from tranquil hot springs to dense forests and snow-laden mountains. The open-world environment gives players the freedom to decide which member of the Yōtei Six to confront first, making for a non-linear experience.
Ghost of Yotei continues the action combat style, including new mechanics and weapons. Players will have access to dual katanas, the strong odachi, and a grappling hook for exploration and combat. These tools will allow them to climb cliffs and overcome obstacles.
The game is set to launch on Thursday, October 2, at midnight in most regions, based on local time. In the United States, the game will be available at midnight on the East Coast.
Ghost of Yotei will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. It will not be released on other platforms like Nintendo and Xbox. The PS5 release is scheduled for October 2, 2025. A PC version is anticipated, following the pattern of the previous game. The Standard Edition is priced at Rs 4,999, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at Rs 5,599.
