Reliance Jio has ended its Rs 799 plan, which offered 1.5GB of daily data, impacting its customer base. The plan, providing 1.5 GB of daily data for 84 days, is no longer available. Subscribers are now encouraged to switch to the Rs 889 plan, which offers a similar 1.5 GB of daily data, also for 84 days. Another entry-level option offering 1.5 GB per day is the Rs 239 plan, which has a validity of 22 days. As of Wednesday evening, the Rs 799 plan remained available on PhonePe. The discontinuation of these plans comes after Jio eliminated entry-level plans providing 1 GB of daily data for Rs 209 (22 days) and Rs 249 (28 days). These plans can now only be recharged at physical retail outlets, as online options are unavailable. This restructuring has effectively raised the industry’s entry-level plan price to Rs 299. Jio stated that the 1.5 GB/day for 84 days plan is still available for recharge across major payment platforms like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm, in addition to their own website. Jio emphasized its commitment to providing a range of convenient and affordable recharge options. The Rs 799 plan includes 84-day validity, free national roaming, and unlimited calling across India. It offers 1.5GB of high-speed data per day and 100 free SMS per day. Subscribers also have access to Jio TV and Jio AI Cloud. Furthermore, Jio offers an additional 84-day plan, that features an OTT app subscription. Airtel has also ended its budget-friendly mobile data plan offering 1GB of data per day, which is no longer accessible on its website, urging those needing 1GB daily data to choose the Rs 299 plan instead.
