Authorities are warning about an online investment scam circulating through the Zupedia app and Zupedia.com website. Cyber Police Kashmir has alerted the public on X and Facebook to the fraudulent scheme. Scammers entice users to participate by first requiring registration, followed by tasks such as rating online content. Victims are then pressured to recharge with amounts like 1950, 8000, and 24000.
To gain trust and encourage greater investment, the scammers provide small payouts for initial tasks. However, once significant funds are invested, users find that they cannot withdraw their earnings, resulting in financial harm. The perpetrators often completely empty the victims’ accounts.
If you have been scammed, report it immediately. Visit the Cyber Crime Portal of the Government of India (cybercrime.gov.in) and file an online complaint without delay, or contact the helpline at 1930. Reporting the fraud promptly improves the chances of recovering your money.
