Apple’s upcoming product launch is scheduled for September 9, and the company will introduce its latest iPhone models, new smartwatches, and other related accessories. This event is strategically important for Apple to stay ahead of competitors like Samsung, Google, and brands from China. With its current operating system lacking major AI enhancements, Apple is focusing on hardware upgrades to retain its customers.
The iPhone lineup will see significant design changes for the first time in half a decade. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will have new backs to enhance the camera area aesthetics. Apple also plans to introduce the iPhone Air, a new model with an ultra-thin body. The event will feature the launch of four new iPhone models, but not the SE model this time.
The iPhone Air will be remarkably thin at 5.5mm, substantially slimmer than the iPhone 16 Pro, although this may affect battery life and result in a single rear camera. Apple is planning a new battery case to address battery life concerns. The iPhone 17 Air will include the A19 processor, a 6.6-inch screen, a USB-C port, ProMotion support, and will be eSIM-only. It will also feature Appleās internal Wi-Fi chip and C1 modem. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will revert to an aluminum frame, improving heat dissipation and providing a lighter feel compared to the titanium used in the iPhone 15 Pro. The standard iPhone 17 will maintain its design but will have a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen, aligning with the iPhone 16 Pro and 17 Pro. Additional upgrades will include a new chip, ProMotion for the non-Pro model, and Qualcomm modems for both standard and Pro versions. Several new accessories, such as a revamped non-leather case, an iPhone 4 Bumper-like case, and a high-end cross-body strap, will also be launched.
The Apple Watch Series 11 will also see major updates. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will feature a larger screen, the new S11 chip, 5G Redcap support, and satellite text messaging/emergency features. Improved screen brightness is a key aim. The Apple Watch SE will get a faster chip and a new display. Health upgrades are in development, including hypertension detection. The AirPods Pro 3 will be launched with a heart rate monitor, a smaller charging case, and a live translation feature.
