A widespread Airtel network outage caused significant problems for users across India on Sunday. Many users reported a range of issues, including dropped calls, lack of network signals, and complete internet shutdowns. The company has yet to release an official response to the disruptions. This incident marks the second network failure in the space of one week.
The network difficulties began around 10:44 AM and escalated by 12:14 PM. Over 7,000 users were affected and unable to use calling and internet services. This follows a previous outage on August 19th, when over 3,500 users were similarly affected.
While the outage affected the entire country, the most significant impact was seen in major cities such as Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cuttack, and Kolkata.
Data from DownDetector indicated that 52% of users experienced call issues, 32% encountered difficulties accessing the internet, and 17% reported a complete network blackout. Social media platforms are filled with complaints from frustrated users.
Social media users are actively expressing their frustration with the network issues. One user, tagging airtelindia, reported that the entire network was down in their area. Another reported that there was no call and internet service in Karnataka. Users have requested Airtel to resolve these issues promptly.
As of now, Airtel has not released an official statement addressing the outage, but it is expected that they will address the issue and resolve the problems quickly.
