Expert Lecture: Presentation of Dr. Sanjeev Gera of Fortis Hospital Noida
The famous cardiologist of Delhi-NCR, Dr. Sanjeev Gera (Fortis Hospital, NOIDA) presented a detailed lecture on the subject of “Resant Advance in Angioplasty”. He said that angioplasty has now reached a new height, where patients are getting better life without open heart surgery without less invasive techniques.
What is angioplasty and why is it necessary?
Angioplasty is a minimum invasive process, in which the blocked coronary arteries are opened, allowing the heart to get the right amount of blood. Medical balloons and stents are used in it, which removes blockage and keep the arteries open.
Dr. Gera said that through new techniques, now stent -less angioplasty has also become possible, which is a revolutionary step especially for the youth and the elderly. In this, blockage can be removed without using drug-koted earrings without applying stents.
3D imaging and new technologies increase accuracy
Dr. Gera said that techniques like 3D imaging now help to understand the complications of the heart. With this, doctors know it accurately where and how serious the blockage is, so that treatment can also be done accordingly.
Silent heart disease: most dangerous but invisible enemy
The program laid special emphasis on Silent Heart Disease. Dr. Gera said that many times heart diseases are rooted without any symptoms, which becomes difficult to identify. For this, checks such as lipid profiles, CT calcium scores and stress tests are necessary.
New techniques: low risk, early holiday
He said that now many types of heart operations such as pacemaker implantation and valve replacement are also being done without open surgery. This not only reduces the duration of stopping in the hospital, but the patient also gets early recovery with low risk.
Heart disease in youth: Effect of changing lifestyle
Dr. Gera expressed concern that now heart disease is increasing rapidly in the youth. He described the improvement in lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise and stress -free lifestyle as essential.
