Thrissur Pooram: Ceremonies start with elephant parade for taking part temples

THRISSUR: The a lot awaited day for the spectacular present of Thrissur Pooram has arrived. Thousands of individuals began flowing to Thekkinkadu Maidan to look at the most important pageant within the state.

The pooram ceremonies started with the elephant parade for Kanimangalam Sastha at 7.30 am. The summer time showers final night time have made the right climate to look at the pooram. People are all thrilled to bounce to the rhythms of chenda when Pandimelam reaches its peak throughout Elanjithara Melam. Photographers reign the Thekkinkadu Maidan as they click on photos of the tuskers and main ceremonies of the pageant. 

Followed by Kanimangalam sastha,  Panamukkumpally Sastha and Karamukku Bhagavathy reached Thekkinkadu Maidan with the escort of melam.  The taking part temples will go to Sree Vadakkumnathan temple and return to their very own villages. 

Madathil Varavu of Thiruvambady Bhagavathy will start by 11 am whereas Paramekkavu Bhagavathy’s Elanjithara Melam at 2pm will take the pageant to its peak.
