Odisha: Ragging Allegation Comes Up In Sambalpur Homoeopathy Medical College | OTV News

Sambalpur: Close on the heels of ragging allegations on the campuses of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences And Research (VIMSAR) and Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla, the evil of ragging has raised its ugly head within the Odisha Medical College Of Homoeopathy and Research (OMCH&R) in Sambalpur now.
A lady pupil of the Homoeopathy College has accused her 5 seniors of torturing and harassing her mentally. The sufferer pupil has additionally lodged a grievance with the National Anti-Ragging cell, New Delhi on this regard on 31 March.
Based on the grievance, the National Anti-Ragging Cell, New Delhi on 1 April had directed the authorities of OMCH&R to provoke an enquiry into the matter and submit a report.
Following the directions, the anti-ragging cell of OMCH&R has began an inquiry into the incident on Friday, knowledgeable Principal of the Homoeopathy College Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Singh.
“The ragging incident came to the fore after they received a mail and a phone call from the New Delhi Anti-Ragging Cell on 1 April. Neither the hostel superintendent nor we have received any written or oral complaint of ragging from the student yet,” stated Singh.
“The incident took place in the girl hostel and the complain has been lodged against five students- 4 female students and 1 male student. We will complete the enquiry by today and the report will be submitted to the national anti-ragging authorities soon,” added the Principal.
Reports stated, a verbal battle erupted between the complainant pupil and the 4 feminine college students, all borders of the ladies hostel of the school, on 31 March over a difficulty. Following the argument, the previous lodged a written grievance with the anti-ragging cell in New Delhi.
