Odisha Home Guard Among 8 Held For Ganja Smuggling | OTV News

Malkangiri: In a serious crackdown, Odisha police seized over 14 quintal of Ganja (dry hashish) and arrested eight individuals together with one dwelling guard, on Monday.
As per experiences, police seized 14.11 quintal of dry hashish within the crackdown and arrested the eight individuals together with the house guard of MV 79 police station and a lady.
The anticipated market worth of the seized Ganja is over Rs 1 crore. The seized contraband was being transported in a truck to Bihar, knowledgeable police sources.

Apart from the truck, police have reportedly seized one four-wheeler, one bike and 5 cellphones from the possession of the drug peddlers.
Police stopped a rushing truck at a verify level and through interrogation, they smelled ganja from the automobile. Cops discovered round 48 ganja sacks within the automobile. During interrogation, the peddlers admitted that the contraband was being transported to Bihar,” stated Anshuman Dwibedi, Malkangiri SDPO.
Earlier in a serious crackdown on January 30 and 31, police had seized ganja price round Rs 2 crore from Koraput and Berhampur.
