Odisha, Bihar renew pact to function direct bus providers, ply on 33 routes

BHUBANESWAR: In a major transfer, Odisha and Bihar governments have renewed the settlement to function direct bus providers passing via Jharkhand overlaying nearly 21,867 km in three states.

Transport division sources stated the inter-state bus providers can be accessible on 33 routes. Earlier, buses have been working on 15 routes overlaying a complete distance of 9,276 km.

In August, Minister for Commerce and Transport Tukuni Sahu requested Transport division officers to take steps to implement all pending proposals mooted earlier for the introduction of luxurious coach buses to totally different components of the state and neighbouring states.

The managing director of OSRTC was requested to pursue along with his counterparts for the early settlement of points and signing of reciprocal agreements for inter-state bus providers.
