Naiduniya Representative, Jabalpur. The High Court will hear the criminal contempt case against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, BJP State President Vishnudutt Sharma and former Minister Bhupendra Singh on Saturday.
Earlier, a bailable warrant was issued against these three by the special court of MP-MLA. Challenging this, a petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of Shivraj Singh and others. Hearing this, the High Court put an interim stay on the warrant.
In fact, Rajya Sabha member senior advocate Vivek Tankha had advocated in the Supreme Court demanding delimitation and rotation in the matter of Panchayat and civic body elections in Madhya Pradesh.
The Supreme Court had banned OBC reservation in elections. Tankha alleges that BJP leaders conspired and presented it in a wrong manner.
The then CM Shivraj Singh, VD Sharma and Bhupendra Singh gave false statements and blamed him for the ban on OBC reservation. Due to which his image and the dignity of the court have been hurt.
Kapil Sibal will plead and then give a lecture
Senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal will argue on behalf of Tankha in this case. After this, he and Tankha will deliver a lecture in the university on the special request of the students of Dharmashastra National Law University. In the third phase, they will meet the officials of Madhya Pradesh High Court Bar Association and High Court Advocates Bar Association.
