Gross negligence: 15 children’s health deteriorated due to antibiotic injection, blisters formed

Children were given injections in Neemuch hospital.

There was great negligence in Neemuch District Hospital. Six children have been admitted to ICU. Three children are undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Naidunia Representative, Neemuch. The health of 15 children deteriorated after being injected with antibiotics to prevent cold and shivering in the district hospital on Friday night. This created chaos in the hospital. Six children have been admitted to ICU and three to a private hospital. The remaining children are admitted in the ward only.

At around eight o’clock in the night, the nursing staff had given ceftriaxone injection to these children aged between 9 months to 14 years admitted in the pediatric ward. He had fever, cough and cold. After the injection, he vomited and got blisters on his body.

Police and hospital officials arrived and counseled the relatives. On information, ADM Lakshmi Gamad, SDM Mamta Khede, Tehsildar Sanjay Malviya, Civil Surgeon Mahendra Patil and TI Pushpa Chauhan arrived with the police force.

Tarun Baheti of District Hospital Sangharsh Committee said that negligence is being seen in the district hospital every day. It is a matter of great carelessness for the health of 15 children to deteriorate simultaneously on Friday night.

Action should be taken against those responsible. ADM Lakshmi Gamad says that all the children are out of danger. The injection will be examined.

District Hospital Struggle Committee alleged

On receiving information about the deteriorating health of children in the district hospital, District Panchayat member and District Hospital Sangharsh Committee’s Tarun Baheti also reached the hospital. He said that negligence is being seen in the district hospital every day. In this sequence, the health of many children deteriorated simultaneously on Friday night. This is a huge negligence. Action should be taken against those responsible and this type of mistake should not happen again. Effort should be made for this.

I have seen children arriving at the district hospital on receiving information that their health deteriorated after giving them injections. Out of these, six children have been admitted to ICU. The relatives took the three children to a private hospital. Philhas, all the children are out of danger. The injections given to children will be examined.
