Bhopal: Joint Registrar of Cooperative Department Vinod Kumar Singh arrested for taking bribe of Rs 2 lakh

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. Joint Registrar of Cooperative Department, Vinod Kumar Singh has been arrested while taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. Lokayukta team caught him at Vaishali intersection on Monday. The accused had demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to settle the investigation into irregularities in the organization “Vishal Sagar Grih Nirman Samiti Maryadit” of Bhopal.
Lokayukta police officials said that Vinod Sharma, resident of Aakriti Garden, Nehru Nagar, had given a written complaint to the police about Vinod Singh demanding bribe.
He had told that there were allegations of irregularities against him (Vinod Sharma) in Vishal Sagar Housing Construction Committee Limited. Its investigation was going on in the Cooperative Department.
Vinod Singh had asked for bribe to acquit him of irregularities. Police will now also search Vinod Singh’s office, residence and other related places. On the other hand, Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang has given orders to the department officials to suspend Vinod Singh.
