Supreme Court: Ranchi, Rana Pratap-Supreme Court, while giving a verdict on the appeal in the case of the fifth JPSC Joint Civil Services Competition Examination, executed it. The Jharkhand government was instructed to consider the claims of the appellants for appointment according to their merit in the selection process. All necessary action has been asked to be completed within two months.

A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh of the Supreme Court has said that the appellaters will be entitled to all the resulting benefits ie seniority and salary fixation (without arrears of salary). However, they will be entitled to fictional salary fixation. At this stage it has been told that the appellant number-two ie Jyoti Kumari has passed the sixth JPSC Civil Services Examination and he is already appointed as Block Development Officer. He will be given the option to join the post, for which he can be found eligible in the fifth JPSC examination according to his merit, which has been informed to us that it will be in Jharkhand Administrative Service.

He filed an appeal petition
The bench of the Supreme Court has said that if such a proposal is not acceptable to them, they will be considered appointed as per the fifth JPSC examination and they will be entitled to seniority with that batch without any additional monetary benefit except salary fixation. Earlier, during the hearing of the case, Advocate on Record Suchitra Pandey advocated on behalf of the applicants. An appeal petition was filed on behalf of the appellant Kapil Dev Hansda and Jyoti Kumari.
