East Singhbhum district has launched a district-wide awareness campaign against illicit substances, aligning with the state government’s initiative. The primary objective of the campaign is to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage people to abstain from drugs. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, initiated the campaign with the launch of an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. The chariot will travel throughout the district, visiting different blocks, to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug consumption. During the launch, the Deputy Commissioner administered an oath of abstinence to all officials and staff. The focus of the campaign is to unite all sectors of society to build a drug-free community. The residents are asked to actively take part in this campaign and create awareness among others. This special drive is scheduled from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring a range of awareness programs to educate people about the detrimental effects of drug abuse.
