A state-led special awareness campaign against prohibited substances has begun in the East Singhbhum district. The campaign was launched by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, who flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises. This chariot will travel across the district, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and promoting a drug-free lifestyle. The Deputy Commissioner also led a pledge against drug addiction among the officials and staff present. He emphasized that drug abuse not only harms an individual’s health but also impacts their future, family, and society, leading to both mental and physical health problems. He appealed to all members of society to join this campaign to build a drug-free community. The public is urged to actively participate and raise awareness about the dangers of drug use. The special campaign will take place from June 10 to June 26, 2025, and will feature a variety of awareness programs aimed at educating people about the negative effects of substance abuse.
