The district of East Singhbhum has launched a special awareness campaign to combat prohibited substances, as mandated by the state government. The campaign focuses on raising awareness against drug addiction. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, flagged off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate premises. The chariot will travel through various blocks in the district, educating the public about the adverse effects of drug abuse. Officials and staff at the Collectorate took an anti-drug pledge, led by the Deputy Commissioner, who emphasized the wide-ranging negative effects of addiction on health, future prospects, family dynamics, and societal well-being. The campaign seeks active participation from all sections of society to foster a drug-free community. The special drive, running from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will involve multiple awareness programs to provide information about the harmful effects of drug use.
