Dhanbad DC Ultimatum to L&T: The Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad has given an ultimatum to L&T (L&T). It is said that the work will have to be completed by March 2025. The company was given a tender of Dhanbad Urban Water Supply Scheme Phase-2 in the year 2019. After 5 years, only 69.4 percent work has been done. The summer season is coming. If the work of water supply scheme is not completed, then the large population may have to face a crisis of drinking water. In the year 2023, the company has received extensions. Kambani has once again applied for extension. The Deputy Commissioner has fixed the deadline to complete the work by March 2025.

The heat is about to come, but no concrete scheme of water supply has been made by the Municipal Corporation. There will be water supply in the city only with the old system. The status of new schemes is not good. 5 years have passed and only 69.4 percent work has been done for Dhanbad Water Supply Scheme Phase-2. From the situation that is now, it seems that the work will not be completed even in the next 2 years.
Water has to be delivered to 76000 houses with a scheme of Rs 441 crore
L&T received a tender for Dhanbad Water Supply Scheme Phase -2 worth Rs 441 crore. Work started in the year 2019. Under the scheme, 76,000 houses have to provide water connection. 5 years passed. Water connections have been given up to only three thousand houses. If the plan was completed, then 10 MLD additional water would be found in the urban area.

L&T has received extension once in 2023
The L&T company has received an extension once in the year 2023. For the second time the company has applied for extension. Recently, the Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with departmental officers and agencies regarding delay in water supply. Warned to complete the work by March 2025. It is said that if the work is not completed within the time limit, then an FIR will be registered.
517 km pipeline is laid in 22 wards
Under Dhanbad Water Supply Scheme Phase-2, ward number 14, 15,16, 17, 18, 19, 20,21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26,27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 52, 52, 53 and 54 have distribution pipeline laying. 76 thousand houses have to provide water connection. The work of distribution pipeline is almost complete. In these 22 wards, pipeline for 530 km is to be laid. Pipes have been laid up to 517 km, which is left for 13 km of pipeline, work is also going on.

Intake of 77 MLD is to be made in Maithon
In Dhanbad Water Supply Phase-2, an intake of 77 MLD is to be built in Maithon. The place was marked next to the intakewell in Maithon. His design and soil were examined. Now there is talk of changing his location. If a new location is given, design and soil testing will take a long time. In Dhanbad Water Supply Phase-2, the land is to be made on the mountain. So far 70 percent work has been done. There will be water supply in the city only through Samp. This will keep the pressure of water and the city will also get 10 MLD additional water.

Rising pipes are not laying due to encroachment
The coke factory is a structure of Pakka in Mugma and Kharikabad. Rising pipes are not being laid here due to encroachment. A campaign will be launched to remove encroachment from here on 11 February. Rising pipes up to 45 km from Maithon to Bhelatand have to be laid. So far, a raising pipes have been laid for 28 km. Rising pipe laying has stopped due to encroachment in Mugma and Kharikabad.
