Four burnt alive as oil tanker explodes in Odisha’s Nayagarh, one vital

BHUBANESWAR: Four individuals died in an oil tanker explosion late Friday evening in Nayagarh district.

According to the police, two oil tankers had left from Paradip and a type of plunged off the bridge into the river close to Badapandusara beneath Itamati police limits.

“As the water was knee-deep, the three staffers of the second oil tanker attempted to rescue the two injured persons. However, four persons, including the driver and the helper of the vehicle which fell into the river, were killed and another sustained serious injuries after the oil tanker exploded,” Nayagarh SP Alekha Chandra Pahi instructed.

Police and fireplace service personnel reached the spot inside quarter-hour and rescued the injured individual. Further investigation is constant, he added.

Nayagarh Police stated they’re but to determine in regards to the drop-off level of the gas transported by the ill-fated oil tanker. The different oil tanker was speculated to ship the gas at Patnagarh in Balangir district.

The oil tanker that met with the accident was transporting 10,000 litre petrol and diesel every. After the explosion, the gas spilled over at the very least 70 metre radius within the river.
