Double homicide over suspected sorcery rocks Ghodapanka village in Odisha’s Gajapati district

Berhampur, Sept 26: A double homicide rocked Ghodapanka village beneath Adava police limits in Gajapati district as a pair was killed within the presence of neighbours on Monday late night.
Though the precise cause of the dual homicide is but to be identified, the couple was reportedly hacked to loss of life by unknown miscreants over suspected sorcery follow.
The deceased are Kapilendra Mallik (38) and his spouse Sasmita (31). Sources mentioned, some miscreants barged into the home of Kapilendra when he was alone in the home and attacked him with sharp weapons. After leaving him in a pool of blood, the killers looked for different family members.
After someday, they discovered Sasmita, who was returning dwelling unaware concerning the incident, and attacked her with none provocation within the presence of neighbours.
Critically injured, the couple is believed to have died on the spot as nobody might dare to shift them to hospital for worry of assault from the miscreants.
