CREDA’s innovative initiative will increase the income of battery-operated e-rickshaw drivers.
Work is being done to enhance basic amenities with solar energy.
CREDA CEO Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana informed that the solar-powered battery swapping station has been developed by CREDA as a pilot project for battery-operated electric rickshaws. With the help of battery swapping, e-rickshaw drivers can replace discharged batteries with charged batteries at a cheaper rate and in less time. This will enable e-rickshaw drivers to cover more distance per day, which will also increase their income. Similarly, the solar panel-based e-rickshaw has been developed by CREDA as an energy-efficient e-rickshaw compared to a regular e-rickshaw. This provides relief to the rickshaw driver from the problem of charging the battery repeatedly. Generally, rickshaw drivers cannot cover much distance due to daily battery charging issues. By installing solar panels in the e-rickshaw, CREDA has largely eliminated this problem. Mr. Rana stated that CREDA is making numerous efforts to provide basic amenities through solar energy in rural and urban areas, including the establishment of solar plants in ashrams-hostels, health centers, and energy education gardens, operation of community street lights through solar plants for pathway lighting, installation of solar high mast lights, and establishment of community biogas plants.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ramvichar Netam, MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu, MLA Mr. Anuj Sharma, MLA Mr. Sampat Agarwal, MLA Mr. Sunil Soni, CREDA’s newly appointed Chairman Mr. Bhupendra Savanni, newly appointed chairpersons of corporations and boards, Secretary of Energy Department Dr. Rohit Yadav, and a large number of common people were present.
